Your discipline
See how it applies to your organisation.
Pick your discipline. The firms and figures below are invented; the documents and questions are the ones Nemosyne ships for it.
The private equity pack ships with six entity types, twenty-five document types, and a view of which to trust first.
What changes for you
Go into every IC and portfolio review with the relevant history already assembled.
IC memo
The committee approved a third roll-up thesis. The first two ran into the same integration problem.
Deal post-mortem
Five years of decisions on file. Nobody can say whether the team’s forecasts run high or low.
Portfolio triage
200 names in the book. The review covered the 40 that someone remembered to open.

Illustrative example · Private equity
The committee approved a third roll-up thesis. The first two ran into the same integration problem.
How it works today
The recommendation is written from the current file, over days of work. The firm’s earlier papers on similar cases, and what happened after them, are rarely reopened.
With shared memory
The memo starts from the firm’s own prior decisions on comparable cases, their stated rationale, and what the record shows arrived after each, so a thesis that ran into trouble before is in front of the committee.
How you would know it worked
Memo hours, and the number of relevant precedents surfaced that the team had not recalled.
In deal shops an investment committee memo takes 13 to 40 hours.
In your assistant
An answer that shows its basis.

Prepare the quarterly review for Meridian Health.
Evidence available as of 30 June
- Approved subject to confirmatory diligenceBoard minutes · 11 March
- Primary rationale: roll-up in a fragmented marketIC memo · 4 March
- Q1 revenue 8% below budgetBoard deck · Q1
- Integration capacity raised in three documentsNoticed across several documents
The approval was conditional and no later document records the confirmatory diligence being completed. The minutes also record no vote, and silence is not unanimity.
Suggested next stepAsk the committee secretary whether the condition was discharged, and on what record.
When new evidence arrives
14 JULY · New source: July board minutes
Condition releasedThe committee records the diligence complete and releases the condition.
The March resolution and the basis of the June review remain visible. A later release does not make the June answer wrong.
Start with one decision worth improving
The first thing we would ask you.
Pick one decision to start with: a quarterly portfolio review, an IC pack, or a screening decision.
Day to day, is this more about running the fund, running deals, or both?
Firms that run funds and firms that run deals want different things from the same documents.
Your own version is built from your documents: create your organisation, drop a folder, and the first companies and people appear within a minute.
Written up in full

- Private equityDeal files, IC memos, minutes and board decks become one cited memory, so a partner's question is answered from the record rather than from memory.
- Private creditFacilities, amendments and compliance certificates, joined. What the covenant is today, which clause sets it, and the headroom each certificate reported.
- LegalWhat your firm has actually signed, the matters that signed it and the reasons recorded at the time — reachable, and cited.
- TaxPositions kept with the authority they cited, so a change in the law becomes a question over your own advice rather than a project to reconstruct it.
- AccountancyWorking papers, filed accounts and client correspondence, joined once and kept — so last year's reasoning is still there this year.
- AuditEvidence that keeps its provenance: what was concluded, on what basis, what was found, and which findings keep coming back.
